Streaming Platforms Engineer, Live Subtitles — based in Bengaluru
Aarav owns the integration layer between Live Subtitles and the streaming services people actually watch every day: Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, and the long tail of regional OTT platforms. He is the person who decides whether a subtitle workflow that works in a lab will survive contact with DRM, ad insertion, and a household's 4K bandwidth cap.
Aarav graduated with a degree in electronics and communication engineering from IIIT Bangalore. He spent four years at a major Indian OTT platform working on subtitle delivery for low-bandwidth Tier-2 markets, then two years on a regional dubbing-and-captioning pipeline. He has shipped subtitle code that runs against the actual Netflix and YouTube player surfaces — not just against research clips — and is unusually familiar with what breaks at scale.
Aarav benchmarks every recommended workflow on at least two devices (a mid-range Windows laptop and a 4K monitor setup) before publishing. If a tool only works on a flagship machine, he says so. If a competing tool does the job better for a specific use case, he names it.
